Mastodon-Blood Mountain
One of the first metal albums I've actually gotten any mileage from.
Mastodon-
LeviathanI actually remember not being too impressed with this album on first listen. Which is odd, considering this is supposedly their best work. But it's definitely growing on to me.
Mastodon-
Crack the SkyeTwo words: The Czar. Divinations is also an amazing track.
Gojira-
From Mars to SiriusI've never heard of Gojira until just recently. I was actually led to this album by iTunes' Genius tab. And I am loving what I'm hearing.
Mike Patton-
Crank 2: High Voltage soundtrackLet's be honest here. I have no idea how Crank 2 will be. I haven't even seen the first one. But Mike Patton did the score for it, and I've been a huge fan of his work for sometime. I genuinely think that between this and A Perfect Place, he has a knack for soundtrack work.
Tom Waits-
Rain DogsI'm trying to revisit an old favorite of mine.
On an unrelated note, The Onion has just done an amazing send-up of video games today.
[link]Close Range. It's a game that consists entirely of shooting people in the face.
I could actually see the game unironically be hailed as much as, say, Halo.
There's actually a demo for it.
